What does it mean to look at oneself? To look at one’s image over and over and over again?

What does that do to the psyche? To the ego? To self esteem?

Narcissus was famously known for falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. On the flip side, being overly critical of oneself — always in search of the failures and shortcomings — is not productive either.

So, how do we find balance? Is there balance to be found?
