Warmth

That irresistible feeling of warmth.

Warmth from your body created by its natural heat producing system

under layers of clothing.

It deepens, it penetrates.

Warmth from your soul.

Like a cauldron: deep but perceptible.

Tea brewing.

Water boiling in the kettle.

Those little bubbles rising to the surface, and then -

pop.

Evanesces.

Warmth from your surroundings.

A blanket, the sun.

Your loved ones.

Undetectable but you know it’s there.

That irresistible feeling that envelops you and makes you want to hibernate.

Hibernation:

Noun

  • An extended period of remaining inactive or indoors.

  • The condition or period of an animal or plant spending the winter in a dormant state.

Dormant -

such a pleasant word

dor-mant

dor

like “gold”

mant

like “lying”

hum.

Come to think of it

It’s the same word in french.

It translates to:

“sleeping”

Warmth & sleep.

The two go hand in hand.

But warmth -

It weakens your muscles, makes you feel like you haven’t slept in days when,

in fact,

you just woke up.

It’s ok.

A smile forms on your face.

You smile at the thought of curling up on your couch, a mug of tea in hand.

That golden moment

euphoric.

Warmth,

defined as the sensation of being warm or

moderate and comfortable heat.

War-m-th

the sound is awkward;

hard to pronounce, so easy to embrace.

But I love it.

It is simply

irresistible.

That irresistible feeling.
